Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) appears with 13 of its degree programs (2 more than last year) in the top-ranked positions of the 50 CARRERAS (50 best degree programs) ranking published by El Mundo newspaper, which gathers the 50 degrees most requested by students and the top five Spanish universities where they are carried out.

La UC3M aumenta el número de titulaciones entre las mejores de España en el ránking de 50 CARRERAS del diario El Mundo

Two UC3M programs are the best in Spain according to this classification: Business Administration and Management and Telematics Engineering. Four degree programs hold second place: Law, Economics, Finance and Accounting, and Labor Relations.  Two degree programs are in third place: Electrical Engineering and Communications Systems Engineering.  And lastly, two degree programs hold fifth position nationally: Computer Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.

In the case of UC3M, only part of their degree programs can compete, as some degrees assessed are not offered at this institution.  For example, UC3M does not offer studies in Architecture, Biology, Environmental Sciences, and Healthcare Sciences, which are some of the ranked programs.

The ranking is a result of analyzing 25 selection criteria, the opinions of more than 2,000 professors, and other indicators, such as human and physical resources, curriculum, graduation rate, research quality, internationalization, etc.   Based on the foregoing, a general ranking by university is established that takes into account the number of degrees ranked in top positions, as if it were the Olympic medal standings.
