4/8/16

The classification is determined by taking into account thirteen performance indicators grouped into teaching, research, number of citations in publications, international outlook, and innovation income.

Ninety of the 150 universities in this classification are European. Highlighted among those countries with a higher number of institutions ranked among the best universities under 50 years old are the United Kingdom (25), Australia (19) and France (15). Spain is in fourth place, together with Germany, with 10 universities.

UC3M Rector Juan Romo participated, as President of YERUN (Young European Research Universities Network), in a panel discussion on university networks as part of the Times Higher Education Young Universities Summit, held recently in Barcelona and during which the results of this ranking were revealed.
